Anna and George

Are you ready for cute overload? Twins! Anna and George are twins who are soon to be one year old! Their extended family got them matching outfits as a gift...I can't handle all this cuteness!

Anna and George's grandparents sell the super cool YaYa B spice in Rochester! Not only is it tasty, it also makes a great shaker!

Evan

Evan is 3 months old already! The last time I saw him, he was only 11 days old! He has grown so much since then and is really developing a personality! His parents said he was holding his smiles back for the camera but he's a cutie nonetheless!

Evan says, "It's a wrap!"

Hans and Taimi's Wedding

They met at camp. They fell in love. They had a beautiful, traditional wedding. They were surrounded with love by their closest friends and family. They have a happy life full of joy ahead of them.

Hans and Taimi, it was an honor to celebrate with you on your wedding as a photographer and as a friend. Blessings on your new life together!

RUUUUUUN!

Hans, you did well!

Wouldn't be MN without a little wind...

I loved the classy feel of the Women's Club in Minneapolis.

Project Childhood

Project Childhood is an organization that corresponds with Child Abuse Prevention Month and was started by Christopher Lee. Their mission is to unify photographers while celebrating childhood. Their website and blog will be showcasing work that photographers are doing throughout their communities to advocate for this important cause.

The Project Childhood website states that approximately every ten seconds, a case of child abuse is reported in the United States. But I will not tolerate that. My original career path was somewhere in between social work and teaching, both professions in which I felt I would be able to "make a difference" in the world. I loved that challenging yet rewarding field of work and do miss it. However, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that I am able to do photography for a living (this is work?!?) and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it even more when photography and social justice avenues collide. It's the best of both worlds when I am able use photography to advocate for social justice causes. W. Eugene Smith said, “Photography is a small voice…but sometimes, one photograph or a group of them can lure our senses into awareness.” If I could accomplish this sometime in my life, I would be happy, very happy.

Below are some fun playground photos from my session with Ava. Ava, her dad, and I had a blast playing at the park...it had been awhile since my last ride down a twirly slide! Ava had so much energy and enthusiasm for playing...it was contagious! And she is so darn cute that I'm having a hard time picking out which photo to submit to the Project Childhood photo contest. The guidelines are basically that the photo has to capture the essence of childhood. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!
