Cousins!

You'll recognize Samuel and Drew from a post last fall and the two new faces are their cousins from Colorado! Drew and Samuel are really getting to know me....they kept asking if I had taken 500 pictures yet! :) We had a beautiful day, a beautiful back yard (check out those gorgeous flowering crab trees), and beautiful kids! Hey, did you notice the photos are larger too!?

Aiden and Abby

Aiden and Abby are good friends with Brody so it worked out well to do their photos on the same day! In fact, Aiden and Abby's mom was in Brody's mom's wedding! (Did you catch all that??!) I love that it is officially summer (most days!) which allows us to shoot outside in that glorious Minnesota sunshine! :)

This is Nia, a friend of Aiden, Abby, and Brody's!

Brody

I'm back! My blogging has been a bit lackadaisical lately because I've been on a pseudo tour of the Midwest. In the past week, I have been in New London, MN, Fargo/Moorhead, Watertown, SD, and Minneapolis/St. Paul. I think my trip-o-meter passed the 1000 mile mark! I did a ton of shooting so now I'm up to my eyeballs in editing and have tons to post. To kick it off, here's Brody! He is the CUTE son of Kristi and Jeremy whose wedding I photographed a while back! He has the bluest eyes I have ever seen! Great to catch up with you guys!

My favorite of the day.

BIG CHANGES FOR LEMON LIME STUDIOS!!!

It began with life as students at Concordia College.

More specifically, it began with life as students in the photo lab at Concordia College.

We bonded over dark room fumes, late nights of experimental photography, discussions about aperture, iso, film grain, macs, and other topics that nerdified us to our other friends. We used each other as models when no one else would agree…eventually teaching each other to avoid being in front of the lens. We dreamt of our then imaginary and now reality photography business.

We were friends first, photography lovers second, and business partners third.

Our lives changed, our business is changing, our friendship will remain.

Lemon Lime Studios will be different and yet the same.

We are Molly and Emily. We were Lemon Lime Studios. We still prefer to stay behind the camera.

Enough mushy stuff! The long and short of it is, Lemon Lime Studios is branching into two. We're still the same photographers with a twist, but now under two separate names. We are both excited to welcome new phases of our photography businesses, but need your help as we transition. Both Molly and I are struggling to come up with new names! So this is where you come in:

• Brainstorm new names for me! Your idea should be creative and catchy. You get bonus points if the name you create relates to limes in an artsy, but not necessarily predictable way.
• Add your name ideas as a comment on this blog (show us some blog love!) or email me at emily@lemonlimestudios.com by May 25th. Your name will be entered in a drawing for a $20 iTunes gift card! Be sure to head on over to Molly's blog and get entered into her drawing as well!

Let the creative (and citrusy) juices flow!!

And because no post is complete with a photo or two...

We told you it's best we stay behind!

Kate is 9 months!

Kate was beautiful from the day she was born but every time I see her, she just keeps getting cuter! I love her dog, Wesley too! It is quite obvious that she and Kate are best buds. Kate always smiled the biggest when Wesley was around. It is such a relief that the sun is out and the warm weather is here! We had so much fun playing in the grass...in fact, it was one of Kate's first times in the grass and she did great!

Nothing melts my heart more than a kid with her dog!
